Privacy Policy
Effective: November 4, 2026
Who we are
This policy covers Gridhands ("Gridhands," "we," "us"), based in the Bay Area, California. Contact us at hello@getgridhands.com.
What we collect from technicians
When you apply, we collect your name, email, phone number (optional), city and state, years of commercial HVAC experience, EPA 608 certification type, the systems you have worked on, whether you are willing to relocate, and a resume if you choose to upload one.
We do not ask for your Social Security number, date of birth, photo, race, gender, health information, or immigration status on our website.
What we collect from employers and other visitors
When you request technicians or contact us, we collect the details you submit, such as your name, company, job title, work email, and information about the roles you need.
Our web host may log basic technical information such as IP address and browser type for security. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
To match technicians with roles, contact you about your application or request, screen candidates, and run our business.
We use AI tools to help with outreach, scheduling, and first-round screening. A person reviews every candidate, and employers make all hiring decisions.
Who we share it with
We share a technician's profile with an employer only after the technician agrees to be considered for that specific role.
We use service providers (for example email, hosting, and form processing) who handle data on our behalf under contract.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Text messages
If you check the text message box, we may text you about your application and matching roles. Consent is optional and not a condition of applying. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
We do not share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep technician information for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or the law requires us to keep it longer. Employer inquiries are kept for as long as we have a business relationship, plus 24 months.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information, or ask us to stop contacting you, by getting in touch. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive information. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information we haven't asked for.
Children
Our services are for working adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes
We will post any changes here and update the date above.
